The Episode began with an interview with some representatives from Washington Elementary School, Kelly Schaeffer and Jade Biedenbender. Malouf expressed his pride in being an Alumni of Washington Elementary, and thanked those present and those at home responsible for continuing to make it a great place to learn. Malouf, Schaeffer, and Biedenbender then discussed the reading programs being used by staff to help kids get excited to read. The group also provided some tips for parents to help foster a love for reading at home.
Wisconsin Rapids School Superintendent Rasmussen’s interview began with a shout out to Lincoln High School’s Theatre department. Malouf mentioned that the school had recently been awarded for their excellence in the arts. Rasmussen expressed high levels of gratitude for the community members which saw the importance of the Performing Arts Center during its construction. Rasmussen also said that the theatre program is growing, including into the Wisconsin Rapids Area Middle School’s theatre program.
