3 Years with Civic Media

Today marks 3 years that WFHR and WIRI have been owned by Civic Media. As someone who has been here for the duration, it’s interesting to reflect on all the changes that have happened to us as stations and the company as a whole. Civic started as a company that wanted to change the landscape of radio in the state of Wisconsin and I daresay they have, perhaps not necessarily in ways they could have predicted. Of course, in media, 3 years can be many lifetimes and we have seen our share of changes, both locally and throughout the network. People have come and gone, mission statements have been adjusted, formats have caused excitement and consternation. Through it all, one thing needs to be remembered, especially here in Central Wisconsin: after almost 85 years, we’re still here and we’re still local. And I truly believe that Civic Media will help keep us that way for a long time to come. Happy Anniversary!
