Gymnastics ends, Royals and Riverkings keep playing, Spring Sports practices start
Wisconsin Rapids gymnast finished in 13th, Basketball and Riverkings are charging ahead, and Track and Field is already underway.
Keith competes at state
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WFHR / WIRI) –Bryleigh Keith is a sophomore and Gymnast at Wisconsin Rapids. She competed at the WIAA State Gymnastics Tournament held at Lincoln High School on Friday and Saturday March 6 and 7.
Keith competed on the Balance Beam where she scored an 8.8667 to help her finish in 13th place.

Royals move to Sectional Semis
For the first time since 2018, the Assumption Boys Basketball team is in the Sectional Semifinals.
The fourth-seeded Royals knocked off top-seed, Royall, 57-51, and will take on the No. 3 seeded, and defending Division 5 State Champions, Cochrane- Fountain City on Thursday, March 12 at Black River Falls at 7:00p.m..
If the Royals win, they will play on Saturday, March 14 at Westby against either Southwestern or North Crawford; the game time is yet to be announced.
Riverkings enter second round of playoffs
The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings took care of business in the opening round of the USPHL Premier North Division playoffs.
Rapids took both games over Hudson with scores of 9-1 and 8-1 and will host the Northwest Express over Friday and Saturday March 13 and 14 at 7pm at the South Wood County Recreation Center. A third game will be played on Sunday, Mar. 15 if needed.
Rapids earned a 3-2 regular season series record with the Express and won two of three games at home.
The weekend series also serves as a repeat of last year’s North Semifinal Round where Rapids earned the 2-1 series victory.
Spring sports beginning
Practices for spring sports have begin at the local high schools with more to follow. Track and Field practices began on Monday, March 9.
Softball practice will begin on March 16 with Baseball and Girls Soccer both starting on March 23.
Boys Golf and Boys Tennis finish things out on March 30.
