Wisconsin Rapids Football honors coach Tony Biolo. Legion Baseball hosts Invites. Rafters end losing streak.
Rapids football honored the past and welcomed the future
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis (WFHR / WIRI) – The Wisconsin Rapids Football program paid honor to retiring coach, Tony Biolo and welcomed incoming coach, Mike Krenz on Wednesday, June 25 at the Ridges Golf Course.

Biolo was honored for his 22 years as head coach of the Raiders as he retired from the position at the end of the 2024 season.
Krenz will be taking over the reins after stints coaching at Wausau West, Stevens Point, and the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point.
Speaking at the event were members from the three state runners-up teams from 1980, 2005, and 2011 in Thomas Bergeson, Mark Krommenacker, and Vince Biegel.
Legion completes Rambler Invite
From June 20-22 the Wisconsin Rapids American Legion Baseball program hosted the Rambler Invite where the 16U and 17U teams competed.
The 17U team finished with a 3-1 mark as they defeated West De Pere, Wausau, and Hartland , but dropped a game to Neenah to wrap things up.
For the 16U squad, they had a tougher go of things as they didn’t come up with wins, dropping contests to Plover, Wausau, Hartland, and Neenah.
The Rangers had its game on Wednesday, June 25 against Marshfield was rained out, and will next play over June 27-29 when they host the Rangers Invite.
Rafters get off skid
With five games remaining in the first half, the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are looking to end things with momentum.
Despite dropping eight games in a row coming off the off-day one June 11, the Rafters have alternated wins and losses over the last week.
Rapids split a doubleheader with Madison on Friday, June, 20, and split the series with Lakeshore and Rockford and dropped the opener with Royal Oak.
Over the next week Rapids will finish playing Royal Oak, play at Traverse City and Fond du Lac, and host Madison to wrap up the first half and begin the second half of the season.
