The 98th Assembly District includes parts of Waukesha and Washington counties in southeastern Wisconsin.
Jimmie Kaska, Civic Media NewsWISCONSIN (Civic Media) – Republican Jim Piowowarczyk has been called the winner of the race for the 98th Assembly District in Wisconsin.
The Associated Press made the call Tuesday evening.
The Republican Party was favored in this district going into the election, according to CNalysis. The district was considered solid Republican with a projected margin of 37 points.
Piwowarczyk is the co-owner of Wisconsin Right Now, a right-wing news site. He campaigned on a platform of a flat income tax, funding emergency services, deregulation, and banning DEI and CRT from public education.
Piwowarczyk defeated Democratic opponent Del Schmechel, a retired electrician and firefighter.
The seat was open after incumbent Adam Neylon was drawn into a different district.
