MILWAUKEE (Civic Media) – The Republican National Convention will be in Milwaukee July 14-18, and the organizing members of the convention have several events planned around the city.

The nomination of Donald Trump as the Republican candidate for president will highlight the event.

Day one on Sunday will feature welcome parties, a school supply donation drop-off event, and a presentation on polling in Wisconsin put on by the organizers of the Marquette Law School Poll.

Monday features two work sessions for the RNC, which will be supplemented by watch parties. There are a number of other events, mostly in the afternoon and evening, around the official sessions, such as documentary screenings. Monday’s theme is the economy.

On Tuesday, in addition to an RNC session, is one of the busiest days of the convention, with several events taking place late in the evening. During the day, there are a number of panels and speakers leading up to the work session. Some of the presentations mirror the day’s theme of national security.

Wednesday’s activities will be mostly open to media coverage, and include a documentary screening, a concert, and, like other days of the convention, events that take attendees around Milwaukee.

The final day of the convention begins with prayer breakfasts, with a few smaller events leading up to Trump’s nomination at the fifth and final official session of the RNC.

The RNC is partnering with media across Wisconsin, including Civic Media, to provide access to all of the events during the week. Media organizations will be front and center to cover and broadcast from Milwaukee during the convention. Wisconsin Media Row will feature two dozen media organizations such as TV and radio stations, as well as print and electronic news services.

You can see a list of scheduled events on the RNC website. The RNC is also providing a list of venues being used for the convention. Official sessions will be held at Fiserv Forum.
