UWSWAC Power of the Purse on March 12th
Power of the Purse is one of Women United’s big fundraising events. CEO Tari Jahns explains how UWSWAC's funding process works.
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis (WFHR, WIRI)
The Power of the Purse event is taking place on March 12th, 2024. This is Women’s United signature annual fundraising event and a fun way for the community to gather together for a great cause. The funds raised through this annual fundraiser will help fund local childhood literacy programs in our community.
Power of the Purse event details
The event will take place at Bullseye Golf Club on March 12th from 5:00 – 7:30 PM. You can purchase tickets online at www.uwswac.org for $35 per person or at the door for $40 per person. This fun evening includes hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and a silent purse auction. Each of the 22 purses have been sponsored by a local business. There are also raffle tickets available for a Dooney & Bourke purse and wallet set going on right now. You can purchase tickets for $1.00 or six for $5.00 at their office or from any Women’s United member and you don’t need to attend the event to win.
Funding applications open now
Funding applications are open now for all areas of funding within the United Way of South Wood and Adams Counties. They fund programs in the areas of education, financial stability, health, and safety net service. Agencies within the communities served by UWSWAC can request funding for their programs that qualify.
No guarantee of funds from year to year
This is an open application process. Any program that meets the criteria can apply. There is no guarantee for funding when you apply and there’s no guarantee you’ll receive the same funding from year to year. UWSWAC reviews applications thoroughly to determine the need for new funding or continuing funding from long-term partners. They’re not afraid to ask programs to make changes or additions to qualify for the funding.
Online application closes on February 29th
Applications must be submitted online by February 29th, 2024 at 4 PM. You can find the information through this link: https://uwswac.org/form/funding-application-2025
