OSHKOSH, WI – (WISS & WGBW) – Over the next few weeks, the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will hire 750 people for temporary seasonal jobs and jobs directly related to the EAA AirVenture 2024 event. Matt Funk, the human resources director of EAA said they have a little bit of every type of job available.

“We’ve got retail. We’ve got security. We’ve got grounds crews and maintenance; camper registration, parking cashiers, bartenders,” said Funk. “When we’re talking seasonal specifically, we’re looking at retail and grounds crews. And then for AirVenture specifically, that’s when there’s additional retail, security, camper registration, bartenders, and the rest of it.”

How to apply?

To apply for one of the many jobs available, Funk says to visit the EAA career page and fill out an application. You can also attend one of the many hiring events that will be going on at the EAA Aviation Museum, 3000 Poberezny Road in Oshkosh in May and June:

  • Wednesday, May 15, 4-7 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 8, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 22, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Open House, June 25-27, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

According to Funk, now is the time to apply. If you want to work with EAA or AirVenture, don’t delay your application.

“Do this sooner than later. Amazingly enough, even when you look at the fact that we’re talking about 450 security guards, we do fill the positions,” said Funk. “I would absolutely encourage people that are interested to get ahead of the game. Do it sooner than later, because we do fill up.”

Who should apply?

Funk says jobs are available for people starting at ages 14 and older. The jobs will involve carrying boxes, standing and walking, and because of the time of year, heat.

“The biggest thing really comes down to – It’s in the end of July. It’s going to be warm. There is no way around it. That’s where half of the physicality comes in on its own,” said Funk.

EAA is looking for people to start at the end of May or the beginning of June for seasonal workers and the AirVenture-specific roles will be from mid-July through the first week of August.

In addition to the 750 people hired, the EAA also has over 6000 volunteers helping out during the event and seasonally.
